The Uzbekistan national team has announced its squad for a September-October training camp and three friendly matches. The Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) confirmed the camp under head coach Fabio Cannavaro will begin on 21 September, with matches scheduled against Iran, Syria, and South Korea.
The UFA said in its official statement: "The Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) has announced the national team squad for the upcoming training camp, which will begin on 21 September under head coach Fabio Cannavaro."
The squad includes players from overseas clubs such as Manchester City, Basaksehir, Lugano, Rubin Kazan, Makhachkala Dynamo, Sabah, Baniyas, Tractor, and Antwerp, as well as domestic sides, with Pakhtakor providing six players. Five players who are part of Uzbekistan's Olympic team at the Asian Games in Japan will miss the camp.
Uzbekistan currently sit 4th in their World Cup group with 0 points from 3 games. Their next fixture is at home to Iran on 24 September at Tashkent's Istiklol stadium, with tickets available at stadium box offices and iTicket.uz sales points. The last meeting between the sides ended in a 2-2 draw.
