Uzbekistan's national team secured a convincing 4-1 victory over Syria in a friendly international on October 1. Khuisain Norchaev starred with two goals and an assist in a match that provided a morale boost ahead of upcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Norchaev then got on the scoresheet himself three minutes after the restart, converting a cross from Abbosbek Fayzullaev. Syria found a late consolation through an own goal by Mukhammadkhon Khakimov in stoppage time, but Norchaev had the final word, completing his brace in the 90th minute with an assist from Doston Kholmatov to seal the 4-1 win.
