Uzbekistan's national team will play a friendly match against Syria at Pakhtakor Stadium in Tashkent on October 1. The match kicks off at 19:00 local time and falls within the current FIFA international window.

Head coach Fabio Cannavaro's side heads into the fixture fresh from a 3-1 victory over Iran last week. That result is Uzbekistan's only win in their last five matches.

Syria, meanwhile, drew 1-1 with Jordan last Wednesday. Their lineup for that match featured Elias Hadaya in goal, with Zakaria Hannan, Aiham Ousou, Abdullah Al Shami, and Ahmad Faqa in defence. Elmar Abraham and Noah Shamoun anchored midfield, supporting Khaled Kourdoghli, Mohammed Osman, Mahmoud Al Aswad, and Mohammed Al-Mustafa in attack.

Uzbekistan deployed a 4-2-3-1 formation against Iran. Vladimir Nazarov started in goal behind a back four of Bekhruz Karimov, Abdukodir Khusanov, Jakhongir Urozov, and Sherzod Nasrullaev. Odiljon Khamrobekov and Azizjon Ganiev formed the double pivot, supplying Dostonbek Khamdamov, Akmal Mozgovoy, and Abbosbek Fayzullaev who played off striker Eldor Shomurodov.

Cannavaro told reporters after the Iran match: "This friendly is an important opportunity for us. It's another chance to test our team's tactical and physical condition."

Information on the squad is available on the squad page. Following the match, Uzbekistan will resume training ahead of the next international break.
