Project Details
In the Ijodkor neighborhood of Yazyavan district, within a special industrial zone, a 10-hectare site has been allocated for the construction of an electric bus plant. The project will cost $170 million and will have an annual production capacity of 700 electric buses. The first phase will focus solely on electric buses, with electric trucks slated for later production. Vehicles will be supplied to the domestic market in Uzbekistan and exported abroad.
Officials and Ceremony
During the project launch, Ferghana Region Governor Khairullo Bozorov, entrepreneurs, investors, public representatives, and veterans attended the ceremony. Bozorov celebrated the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence, highlighted the results of reforms, and discussed the wide range of development projects carried out in Yazyavan district. He also emphasized the importance of expanding alternative energy sources and developing modern, environmentally friendly transport.
Future Plans
The project aims to boost Ferghana region’s industrial potential and create new jobs. Working with Chinese partners, the plan is to enhance Uzbekistan’s competitiveness in the electric transport sector. The plant, scheduled to begin operations in December 2027, will initially produce 700 electric buses per year, with electric truck production planned for a later stage.
Conclusion of the Event
The event concluded with a foundation stone-laying ceremony, after which construction work officially began. The governor and other officials announced the start of construction with the installation of the necessary equipment.
